Event Nordic Youth Sailing Championship for Optimist, Europe, Zoom8 and 29er.

The event is open for competitors from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

1 RULES

1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.

1.2 Rules and regulations for each class will apply.

1.3 All boats may be required, in accordance with ISAF Regulations, Advertising Code 20.3, to display advertising provided by the organizing authority.

1.4 RRS Appendix P will apply

1.5 RRS Appendix D will apply for the Optimist team racing.

2 ELIGIBILITY

2.1 All competitors must comply with ISAF Regulations, Eligibility Code 19.2 (b).

2.2 The number of competitors is restricted to 20 male and 20 female from each country in Optimist, Europe and Zoom8 class. In the 29er class the maximum will be 20 crews from each country.

2.3 Minimum age for competitors is 13 years of age during 2005. Maximum age for competitors is 18 years during 2005.

2.4 Each country shall send at least one coach approved by their National Authority.

3 ENTRIES

3.1 The entry shall be made by each nations class authority.

3.2 Advance entry shall be made no later than 10. July to Moss Seilforeningl:

3.3 The entry for the Optimist team racing shall be made in the race office no later than 4. August at 18:00.

3.4 The advance entry shall include the following:

4 SCHEDULE

4.1 Monday 1. August 10:00 – 21:00 Registration

18:00 Team leader meeting

Tuesday 2. August 08:00 – 12:00 Registration

17:00 Tune Up Race

Wednesday 3. August 11:00 Warning signal 1^st race of the day

Thursday 4. August 11:00 Warning signal 1^st race of the day

Friday 5. August 11:00 Team race Optimist Class

Warning signal 1^st race of the day for the other classes

Saturday 6. August 11:00 Warning signal 1^st race of the day

As soon as possible Prize giving ceremony

4.2 If 3 or more races are completed, no warning signal will be given after 15:00 on Saturday 6. August.

5 MEASUREMENT AND EQUIPMENT CHECKS

5.1 Each boat shall present

- measurement certificate

- confirmation of a third party insurance,

- completed and signed Self Declaration Form

5.2 A boat and equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and Sailing Instructions.

6 SAILING INSTUCTIONS

The Sailing Instructions will be handed out upon completion of the registration.

7 RACING AREA

The races will be in the area south of Jeløy, Norwegian sea chart no 3.

8 COURSES

The courses will be windward/leeward or Trapezoid as described in the Sailing Instructions.

9 SCORING

9.1 The Low Point System, RRS Appendix A shall apply, modified so that if 4 races or more have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

9.2 Nine races are scheduled for Europe, Zoom8 and 29er.

9.3 Eight races are scheduled for Optimist.

9.4 3 complete races are required to constitute a championship.

9.5 Appendix D will apply for the Optimist team racing.

10 PENALTY SYSTEM

10.1 RRS Appendix P will apply.

10.2 RRS Appendix D will apply for the Optimist team racing.

11 PRIZES

11.1 Scandinavian Sailing Federations gold, silver and bronze plaques will be awarded in each class.

11.2 Scandinavian Sailing Federations gold, silver and bronze plaques will be awarded in the Optimist team racing.

11.3Moss Seilforening prizes will be awarded the first third of the fleet in each class.

11.4“Daily first” prize will be awarded to the winner of each race in each class.

12 DISCLAIMER

Competitors participate in the regatta at their own risk, see RRS 4. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage, personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
